On October 1st, 1966, Guitar Giant Eric Clapton & his band "Cream" performed at London England's Royal Polytechnic. An unknown artist named James Hendrix showed up to the gig and asked to sit in. No one had ever asked Cream if they could sit in because they had already achieved legendary status. With a lot of hesitation, Clapton finally agreed to let this guy on the stage. Hendrix ripped through a romp stompin' blues number and completely blew away Clapton and Cream! They had never seen a force of nature like this. James would later be known as Jimi Hendrix and he and Eric would become great musical admirers of each other and become the top 2 greatest guitar icons of the 20th century!
The rest as they say is history. Please join us at The Big Sandy Music Hall 50 years later to the day on Saturday October 1st, 2016 at 7:30pm as Travis Maxey & Rafael Espinoza honor this historic night and pay homage to their guitar heroes!
